Product Description
Hand-knotted from 100% hand spun wool, this Bokhara collection rug displays an intricate tribal design across an expansive surface. The rich crimson-red field is patterned with repeating columns of traditional Tekke gul motifs, rendered in deep navy, ivory, and subtle terracotta accents. Broad geometric borders frame the central field, finished with woven kilim ends and short fringe. Its thin wool pile provides a smooth, dense surface with a natural lustre characteristic of fine handcraftsmanship.
At a grand scale of 510 cm x 331 cm, this rectangular rug is proportioned to anchor large, formal interiors. Position it beneath a substantial banquet table in an expansive dining room, or centre it within a spacious living room framed by dark mahogany, walnut, or rich leather seating. The bold red palette pairs effectively with neutral cream walls, brass architectural hardware, and warm wood flooring in an executive home office or formal reception space.
Dining Room
Choose a rug that extends at least 24 inches beyond each side of the table so chairs can slide in and out comfortably.
Entryway
A 3x5 or 4x6 rug works well for most entryways. Make sure it does not interfere with the door opening.
Living Room
For a seating area, choose a rug large enough so that at least the front legs of all furniture pieces sit on the rug. Common sizes are 8x10 or 9x12.
Kitchen
A runner rug works great in front of the sink or stove. For larger kitchens, a 4x6 or 5x8 can anchor the space.
Bedroom
Place a large rug under the bed so it extends 2-3 feet on each side, or use smaller rugs on either side of the bed.
Outdoor
Measure your patio or deck area and choose a rug that fits within the furniture grouping, leaving a few inches of clearance on all sides.
- Vacuum regularly on a low suction setting to remove surface dirt.
- Spot clean stains immediately with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Deep clean by hand using a mixture of cool water and mild wool-safe soap.
- Have the rug professionally cleaned every 3-5 years.
- Rotate the rug every 6 months to ensure even wear and fading.
