Soft. Bought low pile for sons college bedroom. Didn't want super thick as cleaning is an issue in dorms. This will fit the bill perfect. Better than indoor/outdoor rug but still easy care and low pile. Colors are muted and soft like picture.

Rug is perfect for the hallway it goes in. Lots of muddy paws coming so had to bet inexpensive enough to replace readily.
