Difficult to slide chairs on this textured rug

We love the pattern color and look of the rug. Unfortunately we bought it to put under a dining table. Do the the varying heights of the pattern it is difficult to slide the chairs in and out while a person is sitting on it. Would be more appropriate in a space with mostly stationary furniture.

The area rug was a great choice, good quality, a lot of selection on the website and prices are very competitive. The only criticism is that there was not notification as to when the rug was going to be shipped, had to call customer service to do a follow up after a week of placing the order.
