It came folded in half and rolled up but it only took one day of laying flat to completely smooth out - including the edges. While I would have preferred something in wool I did not like any of the colors that wool offered. The width is perfect and while the 13 foot runner is the longest I could get I still wish I could have found a 14 foot as you can see by the photos. I have received alot of compliments and would purchase again!
